Allison has over twenty years of classroom teaching experience as an intervention specialist ranging from elementary to middle to high school. Allison is excited to join Adult Literacy Ohio to support adults who want to build their skills in reading, writing, and communication.
Throughout her 21-year teaching career, Ashley has worked with a variety of students in the elementary setting. Ashley uses both Orton Gillingham methods and Wilson Foundations. She is very passionate about reading and loves showing people the joys of reading.
Brandi’s professional history includes 23 years of teaching. Her instruction focuses on incorporating phonemic awareness, phonological awareness, fluency, writing, and comprehension.
Carla is a literacy tutor with about a decade of teaching and tutoring experience. Carla has completed various trainings to support her work as a literacy tutor, including an intensive program, in Orton- Gillingham methods of multi-sensory literacy instruction and training on Wilson and SPIRE.
Deborah is a licensed intervention specialist with 14 years of teaching and tutoring experience. She has a master’s degree in special education
Ingrid has 23 years of teaching experience, including classroom instruction and in-home tutoring. She has access to Orton Gillingham, Stevenson, and Wilson materials and many resources to help improve reading comprehension ( materials for vocabulary, making inferences, visualizing, sequencing, etc.)
Jessica is a licensed early childhood educator with ten years of experience in the field. Throughout her career, Jessica has supported students with a variety of abilities and needs.
John is a high school intervention specialist. A firm believer that every student learns differently, he uses various teaching techniques emphasizing multi-sensory instruction. For reading comprehension, he uses materials that encourage making predictions, retelling, visualizing and story maps.
Laura is a veteran educator with over 24 years of teaching experience, including work as a home instructor, private tutor, and most recently, as a Title Reading Specialist. She has experience working with students with developmental disabilities, including Down Syndrome and Autism.
Maureen has over 30 years of teaching experience and 12 years of tutoring experience. She is a Certified Level 1 Orton Gillingham Practitioner which means that she is equipped to provide beginning readers with a structured, sequential, prescriptive, and explicit multi-sensory literacy approach. Maureen embraces literacy as a tool to improve lives and is excited to offer support to beginning readers in our program.
