Ashley is a licensed intervention specialist and has over 12 years of experience working with people with developmental disabilities ages 5-32. She is proficient in basic American Sign Language and part of her professional history includes teaching and coaching at the Ohio State School for the Blind. Prior to teaching, Ashley was an Inclusion Support Specialist at Columbus Parks and Recreation where she advocated for and modeled best practices for inclusion throughout the Central Ohio community. Some examples of programs that Ashley uses in her reading instruction include Unique Learning Systems, Heggerty Phonics, News 2 You, and Epic. Her specialty is working on communication through AAC devices, pre-recorded switches, and basic American Sign Language. Ashley is passionate about building relationships with her learners and having fun while teaching reading skills!
