All Adult Learners and tutors must participate in a free interview prior to paid services to ensure compatibility on both side. For scheduling a free introductory interview, please click “Book A Session” in the main menu and select the first service, “Introductory Interview,” on the service listings.
Please refer any qualified Tutor candidates you know who can work with Adult Learners in your area to the program manager.

Mary Beatty
Mary has 40+ years of teaching experience with kindergarteners through adults. She enjoys teaching and seeing the smiles on the faces of her students and the sparkle in their eyes when the ah-ha moment happens. Mary is very patient. She meets the learners where they are.
Samrath Grubb
Samrath has 18 years of teaching experience and 8 years of tutoring experience across all grade levels, including a young adult in college with autism.Samrath shares that she is excited to join Adult Literacy Ohio because she is fully aware and appreciates that reading and writing challenges can follow students beyond high school. So much in life requires a strong foundation in reading. Samrath looks forward to pulling from her extensive experience and education to assist adults in their literacy journeys!
Sarah Vincenzo
Sarah is a licensed intervention specialist with 12 years of teaching and tutoring experience. Sarah can provide specialized support and instruction to improve reading and writing skills. With over 12 years of experience teaching and working with diverse populations, Sarah has the knowledge and skills to create a personalized instructional approach for every learner.
Scott Stygar
Scott has five years of teaching experience at the elementary level. He has worked with individuals with ADHD, dyslexia, Autism and comprehension, phonics, fluency, and vocabulary deficits. He uses Heggerty and HMH which both include explicit instruction in key areas such as phonemic awareness, phonics, and fluency. Adults who can read, write, do basic math, and use a computer are more likely to achieve goals such as meaningful work, understand directions, etc. Scott looks forward to supporting adult learners on their literacy journeys!
Sharon Bronson
Sharon is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, and 1990 graduate of Walnut Hills High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in May of 1995 from Bennett College. Additionally, she earned a Master of Science degree in Biology, Secondary Education from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Sharon brings 28 years of professional licensed teaching experience. She has taught all subjects at all learning levels. Sharon uses effective instruction for meeting learners where they are and growing their literacy levels and skills across all subject matter.
Stephanie Leasure
Steph is a 9-12 Grade H.S Technology Teacher at CCS. She has a passion for meeting students where they are and individualizing instruction to be responsive to interests and needs. While Steph is not a traditional reading teacher, she is an avid reader and promotes literacy in her Career Tech Classes.
Tamara Johnson
Tamara has 20+ years of teaching and tutoring experience in reading, math, and science through all grade levels. Additionally, she has experience with adult tutoring of students participating in the ABLE Program with Cincinnati Public Schools.
Tracey Lewis
Tracey is an experienced education professional with over twenty years of experience as an Intervention Specialist, home instructor, and tutor for elementary to high school students. She particularly enjoys working one-on-one with students, tailoring lessons to their needs and learning styles. Tracey focuses on supporting individuals and helping them improve their skills to achieve success and greater independence. She prioritizes building positive relationships with her students, creating a comfortable learning environment that enables them to work effectively with her and reach their educational goals.
