Kay is a licensed elementary educator with 31 years of teaching experience, mostly at the 6th grade level. Kay also has 14 years of tutoring experience across grades K-12. She loves collaborating with specialists and has served many students with a variety of abilities and needs over the years, including but not limited to hearing impairments, cognitive delays, language processing disorders, and mental health challenges. Kay takes great pride in building a culture of caring, compassion, and empathy in her work. In addition to her professional experience, Kay has also volunteered with Marimor Industries (a non-profit which provided training and employment for people with developmental disabilities). Kay is excited to join the Adult Literacy Ohio program because she believes that everyone deserves to learn under the guidance of a knowledgeable, compassionate and empathetic teacher who truly cares about others. She embraces diversity and looks forward to designing personalized instruction for her adult learners in this program.
